Hoi An- An Ancient Town Of Vietnam

Hoi An (Vietnam) on June 12 2008

This morning we visited to My Son, the ruins of the Cham ethnic group that are the heritage of humanity. To do this visit we recommend that we would get up earlier to avoid the heat and people. And another reason is these ruins open at 6 am.

Once arrived at the ruins we had to walk closer since the passing cars for this cut. It was a walk of about 10 minutes under the shade of trees. The ruins are divided into several zones. There are some areas that are not more than some remnants of the temples he had. But there are other areas where there are temples that are still preserved in quite good condition. Inside one of them is a mini museum with some archeological pieces and some bombs that were dropped during the war and who fell in the area.

At the top of the ruins there is a kind of shop and a stage where every so often make a show. This is a group of about six people who play the typical music of the ethnic Cham. After the music comes dancing, so we are three girls dancing a kind of belly dancing.

The visit to My Son is highly recommended, the visit to My Son reminded me of my visit to Ankor Wat (Cambodia) last year. Both of them are very special, I don’t want to compare and I think we can’t. Each place has its own features.

After that we returned to Hoi An. As we had the rest of the day off we decided to dedicate ourselves to making a few purchases. We.went out for a drink and ate some typical kinds of food here, then we went shopping. We found out that the food in Hoi An is so delicious and the goods is so cheap. For example poles of the famous crocodile brand costing between 5 and 10 dollars, depending on the facility to haggle. Then in Ho Chi Minh prices and the poles were a little older, between 3 and 5 dollars, so if you plan to buy poles is advisable to do so in Hoi An.

There are also plenty of shops tables throughout the city. We take to buy two very nice pictures and the truth is that we had brought the entire store, but there was no plan, if it cost us quite haggle and get a better price.

To eat, Anh recommended that we go to Brother's Cafe, located beside the river. A restaurant is a little expensive for the price of Vietnam, but who eats quite well.

In the afternoon we are dedicated to stroll through the city and soon the hotel to give us a relax on the beach and take a cocktail at the pool, which we had boyfriends and trips to relax, that was not all up early.
